Description:
I'm going to stand by what I said on my last review about this being a beautiful map that could be framed on my wall (it would great with all my other Star Wars posters). But I will clarify by saying, of course there is room for improvement, there is always room for improvement as we can see with this release of V3.
The thing that I find draws me to this map, is that it doesn't get boring. There is so much to do, see, and destroy that I found myself darting all over the map to take care of it all. And it's a huge map (the bigger the better). Most of the changes in this version appear to be aesthetic (bad pun, I know) but it's worth getting whether or not you've played it yet.

I'm glad I came back to this map. I believe I've made several improvements over the last version. While making "(ZM) Eve" I to open up V2 of this map and saw numerous problems. I know it's not as good as Petroglyph's map (in my opinion, their best map is Mandalore's land map), but I doubt I'll ever be that good. Enjoy. Again, no complaining about Readme length.

New Republic Mission Briefing:
During a recent battle over Byss, one of our Corellian Corvettes was shot down and crashed near a large Imperial base. This particular ship was carrying very important intelligence and must not be captured by the Imperial Remnant. We've established a base camp around the ship, converting it's engines into the power generator and using it's exposed turret for defense. Defend the ship at all costs. Also, try to weaken the enemy in any way possible. Orbital imaging tells us that there is a less guarded back entrance to the base north of the crash site. Apparently, there is a pirate camp near that entrance and a Zann Consortium camp to the east. WARNING: Radiation and toxic fumes from the engines have made the area directly behind the ship a death zone for infantry.
Imperial Remnant Mission Briefing:
A New Republic ship has crash landed to the southwest of our complex. Investigate the crash site, and recover any files aboard the ships computer. Destroy any resistance. Also, pirates and criminals have set up camps in the area. Eliminate them.
Map Summary:
Version 3 of my Imperial Stronghold map. I made the Stronghold incredibly strong for a couple reasons: to crush the Rebels, to create a powerful enemy when playing as the Rebels (even on easy), and to force the importance of military strategy. This map is based on one of my all time favorite maps for Halo: Custom Edition (not an official release): RPG_Beta 6. I tried to recreate it as accurately as possible from memory, with a few changes for playability. And I know crashed ship maps have been over done, but with RPG_Beta 6 there was a crashed ship that i had always wanted to be set up as a second base. I do have IG-11's Prop pack installed, so you may need it to get the full experience out of this map. For some reason, the pirates don't really do much (not sure why that is). I had tried to put a large waterfall at the source of the river, but I couldn't get it to look right.
PS: Aircraft will be very helpful, and Rebels will need to use the Gallofree HTT to get to the central outpost pad. Or you could just walk the very long way, through the Consortium camp, to get to it.
Changes for V2:
-Redone textures
-NPCs
-Complete redone mountains
-Made bases faction specific
-Weakened the Imperial base because I hadn't realised that I had made it TOO powerful
-Bases now spawn garrisons
-Removed the turbolaser tower from the central "outpost" (it was screwing up the textures)
Changes for V3:

NOTE: This map is for FoC only! New versions will not replace the old version.
Installation:
Place in your Custom Maps folder (Ex: C:Program FilesLucasartsStar Wars Empire at War Forces of CorruptionDataCustomMaps)
Oh, and if you want to use this in a mod, please ask me first. I'd really like to know if my maps make it into mods. Thanks in advance.

Skirmisher Joined: July 16th, 2010 Posts: 112 | I really liked this map, and I'm glad you've made these improvements. My only problem is that the cages next to the imperial base seem out of place for some reason; however, it's not that big of a deal. |

#4: Lol it's not impossible. Just very hard. I won as the Rebels and I was fighting both the Empire and Consortium on hard. But it takes a couple hours.
Yes this version was mostly aesthetic improvements over the last. When I came back to it a couple days ago it just looked ugly (mostly the old mountains), so I made it look more realistic. |

So it shows up as "(ZM) Imperial Stronghold V26y" The 6y was put there by the map editor, not me. I suggest going into map editor and changing the V26y to just V3. |

Could you maybe release a smaller version for people with slow computers? Thats the only concern with me. If not, its fine, I'll just make my own. But also, if you wanna make a really unique map, i released an earth template that is a very large representation of a map of earth from a globe, with continents and oceans. I figure you might be able to turn it into a GREAT World conquest map. Map will be released 3 days after this comment has been posted. |
