Return of the Clones (v5.2) - File Description  

For all of you Clone Wars fans out there, here's Darth Windu's latest addition to the Return of the Clones mod! In case you aren't familiar with previous versions, this mod adds many new units and introduces an Old Republic faction complete with old Clone Wars military hardware. This new version adds some units and fixes a few odd bugs.

Play as the evil Galactic Empire, the corrupt Zann Consortium, the heroic Galactic Republic, or the new Rebel Alliance! As the Empire reaches new heights of power, challenges form against its rule. While the corrupt Tyber Zann collects and upgrades relics from the Clone Wars to aid his bid for power, a new Republic rises in the outer rim. Taking control of Kamino, new Supreme Chancellor Mon Mothma alongside Jedi Masters Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi create a new Clone army, untainted by the Sith, and ready to restore freedom to the galaxy once more. Meanwhile from a secret base on Hoth, Borsk Fey'lya and others have formed a Rebel Alliance, determined to sweep away all contenders whom they see as corrupt... v5.2 of 'Return of the Clones' includes the restored Rebel Alliance with a few new heroes alongside numerous bug fixes and new models.

Return of the Clones: A Rebel to Republic conversion V5

This mod adds the Republic for FoC, and replaces a great deal of the Zann Consortium.
This is the sequel to the V1 series of RotC, which was only for EaW.

Why? Because I could mainly, but also because I love the Republic.

1. Republic - slightly changed Republic Gunship model
- new ship: Pelta Medical Frigate

2. Rebellion - new hero: Warb Afyon and the Sundered Heart
- new hero: General Rieekan and the Gargantuan
- Smuggler minor hero removed
- Bothan Spy minor hero added
- Rebel Assault Frigate Mk.2 replaced with Mk.1

3. Empire - Darth Vader now lands in TIE Advanced

4. Zann Consortium - Marauder Cruiser removed
- Trade Federation Missile Frigate added

5. Pirates - added Marauder Cruiser

6. Miscellaneous - new faction pedistals
- fixed Commander Cody firing bug
- various bug fixes

1. Republic - new starbase models
- Kyle Katarn loses grenade ability, gains Force Healing ability

- changed to red Imperial icon for landing zones

- Garm's Juggernaut health halved, population count halved
- icons, textures changed from Rebel symbol to Galactic Republic
- gains Dantooine, loses Carida in 'Equal Footing'
- Starbases over Mon Calamari spawn B-wings, over Fresia spawn X-wings, over Naboo spawn N-1's

2. Zann Consortium - added MTT
- added STAP
- replaced Droideka model with original FoC model
- Battledroid and Super Battledroid now healed by repair facility instead of bacta tank
- All Corruption missions fully fixed
- added Gizor Dellso, a Geonosian hero who has allowed the Consortium access to the old Confederacy equipment

3. Empire - added Prince Xizor hero. Able to remove corruption at 25% less credits than any other hero
- added Prince Xizor's "Virago"
- added Imperial Sniper unit
- Mara Jade's Shuttle more powerful, better shields, more armour
- original Death Star re-enabled, Death Star II now more expensive
- corrected all voice sounds for Captain Piett's Executor
- Thrawn 'removing corruption' sound changed from Rebel to Imperial
- gains Carida, loses Dantooine in 'Equal Footing'

4. Miscellaneous - fixed various text entries
- mining facilities now restricted to Alzoc III, Bespin, Kessel, Mustafar, Polus, Thyferra
- mining facilities now cost 1500 credits each, but add far more credits than before
- re-enabled original EaW single-player campaigns
- fixed Alderaan land graphics issues
- fixed various hero abilities in relation to new units

1. Republic - replaced Phase 1 Clones with Phase 2 Clones, Kashyyk Troopers, and Marines
- removed AT-RT
- removed UT-AT
- re-skinned Swamp Speeder troopers to appear as Utapau clones
- replaced Garm Bel Iblis' 'Gargantuan' with modified Juggernaut
- ARC Troopers now come in suqads of four, twice as expensive

2. Zann Consortium - removed MTT
- added transport ability to Snail Droid
- removed STAP
- Defiler more expensive, slightly less useful

3. Empire - given control of The Maw in GC

4. Pirates - added back into the game
- added 'Ugly' Fighters
- added Skipray Blastboat
- now control Nal Hutta, Tatooine, and Atzerri

1. Republic - added Phase 1 'Attack of the Clones' style Clone Troopers as the main Republic infantry.

2. Zann Consortium - added Diamond Cruiser, serving as an Escort Carrier in Zann's fleet, Unarmed and lightly armoured,
the Diamond serves by brigning in Vulture Droid squadrons to assist the rest of the fleet.

1. Republic - added UT-AT. Medium tank, similar to, but less powerful than, the AT-TE.

2. Zann Consortium - all non-specialised units removed
- Federation Battleship added. Very large and expensive, but carries an endless supply of fighters
- Recusant Destroyer added. Has a large and powerful cannon at the front, but not well armoured.
- Munificent Frigate added. Mainstay of Zann's fleet, the Munificent is a poerful general purpose warship.
- Hardcell Corvette added. The anti-fighter space unit of the Zann fleet.
- Marauder Corvette added. Space artillery unit.
- Droid Trighter added. Large but agile anti-fighter craft.
- Vulture Droid added. Small and expendable fighter, often deployed in large numbers.
- AAT added. Zann's anti-armour land unit. Powerful, but not as versatile as Imperial or Republic units.
- MTT added. Large, heavily armoured transport unit.
- Snail Droid added. Fast, amphibious droid unit excellent at destroying light vehicles.
- STAP added. Light recon unit, slower but better armed than the Imperial Speeder Bike.
- Super Battle Droid added. Heavy infantry unit, well armed and armoured.
- Battle Droid added. Light infantry unit, decent firepower but very weak.

- M1 Repulsor tanks converted to Imperial Transport. Can carry five infantry squads or two vehicles

3. Republic - added AT-RT. A light recon walker. Fast and with long sight but weak in combat
- significantly beefed up Republic Gunship
- increased range of Venator SPHA-T beam ability

1. Empire - Added Loronar Strike Cruiser, same stats as former Acclamator
- Added Mara Jade (Hero)
- TIE Fighter replaced with V-wing at Tech Level 1
- Broadside Cruiser removed
- Tartan Cruiser removed
- Lancer Frigate added, same stats as Tartan Cruiser
- Acclamator Cruiser removed
- Carrack Cruiser added. A small light cruiser, the Carrack lacks heavy armour and shields,
but makes up for this by having a very heavy Ion Cannon armament, bringing down enemy shields quickly
- Level 6 Space Station available exclusively at Coruscant
- Lancet Air Artillery removed
- Juggernaut transport removed

2. Hutts - Pod Walker (AT-AP) replaced with AAT Tank
- Swamp Speeder replaced with Enforcer Tank Droid
- Venator replaced with Nebulon B Frigate
- V-wings replaced with TIE-Wing and X-TIE uglies

3. Zann Consortium - Nerfed Aggressor special ability, recharge now 60 second sinstead of 10
- All Consortium units more expensive and weaker

4. Rebellion - no longer playable

5. Republic Heroes - General Dodonna's 'Freedom', the Republic Flagship
- Mon Mothma, the Republic faction leader
- Tani Ab'yla, a Republic Intelligence agent capable of assassinating minor heroes. Flies her Intelligence courier 'Shadowclaw' in space
- Han & Chewie, flying the 'Millenium Falcon' in space (now blue, as in RotS)
- R2-D2 and C-3PO
- Captain Antilles' 'Tantive IV' (now blue as in RotS)
- Yoda
- Obi-Wan Kenobi
- Luke Skywalker
- Garm Bel Iblis

6. Republic Space - Republic Attack Cruiser (Venator). Now includes destroyable Hanger hardpoint and SPHA-T Beam attack ability
- Republic Assault Ship (Acclamator). Now includes destroyable Shield Generator hardpoint
- Dreadnought Heavy Cruiser. Very sturdy and powerful mid-sized frigate
- Tartan Patrol Cruiser. similar to the old rebel Corellian Gunboat
- Republic Cruiser. Corvette-type ship for the Republic
- Mon Calamari Cruiser available (only two allowed at a time, only buildable at Mon Calamari)
- ARC-170. Large, well armed, well armoured fighter. Can be built and carried by Assault Ships and Attack Cruisers. Can perform a bombing run
- V-wing. Advanced single-seat fighter, deploys from Republic Starbases
- V-19. Older fighter, deploys from Republic Starbases
- All weapons are blue, except for the ARC-170 and V-wing which fire green lasers
- Level 6 Space Station available exclusively at Coruscant
- MC-30 Frigate

7. Republic Ground - AT-TE. Largest assault walker for the Republic, comes armed with a large cannon. Deploys Clone troopers as soon as it lands
- AT-AP. A useful walker best used for destroying enemy armoured units
- SPMA-T. Large, long range artillery. Extremely useful for striking at the enemy so that they cannot strike back
- Swamp Speeder. Small, fast, shielded vehicle most useful for reconnaissance and anti-infantry operations
- Republic Gunship. Exceptionally powerful air transport unit
- Clone Trooper. The best infantry in the galaxy, Clones are excellent garrison units
- Juggernaut Transport added

8. Miscellaneous - Any Republic ARC-170 squadron can kill the Death Star
- Obi-Wan, Yoda, Darth Vader, General Veers all gain Field Commander bonuses


- create a mod folder in you Foc Folder. For example - C:Program FilesLucasArtsStar wars Empire at War Forces of CorruptionMods
- extract the 'RotC' folder to the mod folder, which should look something like - C:Program FilesLucasArtsStar wars Empire at War Forces of CorruptionModsRotC
- Insert your Foc disk and double-click on the shortcut included to start the mod
- NOTE: If you have your game installed to a non-default directory, such as 'E:Program Files...' you MUST edit the 'target' box in the shortcut provided to reflect this

If you have a problem with that, or want to do things the hard way, this is how you do it.

Drop all of these files, minus the readme, into the places I specify
- ending in .xml --> Star Wars Empire at War Forces of CorruptionDataXML
- ending in .alo or .ala --> Star Wars Empire at War Forces of CorruptionDataArtModels
- ending in .dds or .tgs --> Star Wars Empire at War Forces of CorruptionDataArtTextures
- ending in .txt --> Star Wars Empire at War Forces of CorruptionData
- mastertextfile_english --> Star Wars Empire at War Forces of CorruptionDataText
To uninstal, simply delete them from these directories

Known Issues:
- The Rebel anti-aircraft turret has no building animation. No idea why.
- EaW original campaigns are not in the mod. I did say they were in, but I've had a lot of problems getting them to work right, so for now they're still disabled.
- Some original EaW single-player campaigns don't work. I haven't had time to fix all of them, but at the very least 'Galactic Conquest' is 100% working.
- In 3D mode, the camera is extremely close to the heads of Clone Troopers.

In the Equal Footing GC map playing as the Republic, every time the Zann Consortium attacks Mustafar my game crashes. I can be attacked by anyone on other planets just fine, but when the ZC attacks Mustafar? Clicking on the "Start Battle" results in the game just disappearing. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

the zanns need to have buildable bombers/fighters, even tho the got the dia ship which has 14 fighters, and there need to be a few more ships for all sides, esp the republic where theres aquite a few corvetts, and not alot of heavy hitters, but u can say that for all sides there arnt many hitters

also the fighters r easily killed they need to be abit stronger, i love the ground units, but i cant see delso when he is placed on a planet, also there arnt buildable mining structures for the republic, so i found it hard to play THE MAW map with them, as getting credits was hard =/

over all -1 for zanns cant build fighter/bombers
-1 for not many heavy hitting ships
-for the republick not being able to build mining structures
7/10 but i like it jus those things upset me Roll Eyes (sarcastic)

IANF1 - the Republic star base models by Warb ARE in the mod!

Logispoon - the Republic CAN build mining structures, but only on strategically valuable planets like kessel, bespin, thyferra etc.

love your mod but for some reason when i play rotc 5.2 theres no AI for the npc factions in general any information on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

i have the same problem with the AI i wanted a quick battle in skirm to test the ships and all. BUT the AI did nothing at all lol just sat there and built their station to lvl 5 :/

yea the AI problem is because you have the gold pack. all of his mods are made for the FOC that came on it's own disc.

Well, I too have an issue. I run this on a windows Vista, and every time I click the shortcut for RoTC, it starts up the standard FoC.

Right-click on the shortcut and check the path. Ensure that is has "MODPATH=Mods/RoTC" after the path to the FoC executable.

Jaxun - I don't use Vista, but the path is ONLY correct in the mod shortcut assuming (a) you have the game installed in the default directory, and (b) you've put the mod folder in the right place.

I found the problem! My mods folder was located in Data!

Fail, right? Anyways, now to re-install FoC, update it, and make the mods folder BEFORE the Data thingy.

Let me guess, Jack: you're new to this whole modding thing, right? Don't worry. Modding is perfectly legal and usually a painless process. stick out tongue

Here's what you do for this mod:
1) Download the file.
2) Extract the file from its zip archive (you can use WinRAR).
3) Take the folder named "RotC" and move it into the Mods folder. For a default installation that folder should be located at: Cstick out tonguerogram FilesLucasArtsStar Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption.
4) Place the RotC shortcut and place it on your desktop.
5) Double-click on that shortcut and the mod will work all on its own.

Simple, no? ^_^

when i tried this mod, the clone commando dropship textures were "broken" according to my computer.

really love this mod,

got this one few weeks ago... then played it...

love wat Darth Windu did with the having both republic and rebel.. anyway i found some things that really bothers me with this mods..

- fighters need some rescaling for a nice dog fights... coz with the original scaling it doesnt have a nice combat lock.. thats what i notice at first as ive seen the preview in the menu area...

- it sez it has Phase2 clones but i can only build One type of Clonetroopers.. it would be great to have both Phase 1 and Phase 2 buildable... with some Plex Clonetroopers... if possible smile

- as i also edit some of the files so that i can play it in the way i want it be played, ive found that there is a republic Hero called Fordo... but i didnt see it in the republic heroes...

- lasting, keep updating this, really love it... the first time ive played ROTC is when the EAW version..

great mod but the republic in space needs more heros what u can do is retexture boba to look like jango fett cause boba was origanally a clone of jango he basicly wears a blue version of bobas outfit some goes for his slave 1 ship infact all of the clones in the clone army are clones of jango also u need to add a han like hero for the republic in space jango also dual wields blasters u can also put jango on land other than that keep up the great work

Well I followed all the Install guides and whatnot and I'm still getting the crash on load. have no idea what is wrong with the mod because I can load every other mod and FoC normally, its just RotC that's crashing FoC.

rvsbcaboose, Falleen9 - you need to edit the shortcut provided to take into account your custom install directories. Right-clik on the RotC shortcut, click on 'properties', and change the 'target' path to reflect where you have your copies installed

Sammo - the AI is problematic. Make sure you've updated your FoC to v1.1 though

OK, seriously there is no other support on the web (that I could find with about 20 mins of searching) for this mod...so im gonna post here, and probably never play the mod now, not because i dont want to, but because i dont have the spare time or the patience to keep checking message boards for a solution from people that cant even generate a shortcut thats os independent

I have 64 bit windows vista. When I first started trying to play EaW on this computer, I had problems with that. I downloaded LucasArts solution, and that was fixed while i played the actual game. Now i download this mod to play it, and same trouble as when i installed the game:

An exception has occurred, log file something or other yada yada yada. long story short, it doesn't say much, but im pretty sure it has something to do with being 64 bit windows. for the love of god, I would think people would be utilizing 64 bit processing a little more than they do by now. or atleast have the msb and lsb in the right place...

im afraid to mess with the mod files for a few reasons. but mainly because i dont know what they all do until i look at them...and i dont have the time to invest in that, cuz if i did, then i wouldnt want to play the mod by the time i figured out how to fix it cuz i would be pretty upset that i would have to do it, rather than the people that actually know the code

in any case, could somebody fix this, or tell everybody else how to?

and i swear to god, if somebody says that i need to fix my path name in the shortcut, or install the forces of corruption expansion, yoda will kill himself

hi there Darth window... here you have some suggestions :

make the venator to carrier only v-wing and arc-170 because this is return of the clones no the firts phase of the clone war...

m... the clone troopers there is a problem with them... when i put the file to play with only the phase 2 or 1 of the clone troopers i can't build them, you most fix thatbig grin

the bombers for the republic.... in the last phase of the clone wars, the republic and the cis no have any bombers and i can't understand why you put bombers in the mod!!! that's very unrealistic, and i think you can put an option for the arc-170, this option will change the laser caaño of the arc for proton bombs

problems 1 the shielding network needs a major overhaul proton torpedos need to be able to bypass the shielding that was the whole point of bombers 2 republic needs more heros!!! try adding heros like anikan skywalker anikan= vadar so try using luke unit as the base only with v wings and a jedi star fighter and obiwan would = han so use the millinum falcon space and kyle katarn or jango fett which would be a boba reskin into blue for the republic

I think you should put a Sith temple in the next new version.
Also you should be able to use piracy to get new ships for the Zan Concourtum I mean they are still led by a thief thus they should be able to get new ships.

And the clone commandos should be a hero unit.

That your not gonna make a new version of this game.
You could add asoka tano for a republic hero as a example of one of the jedi heros i would love to have or leia.

Also why not add the clone of Darth Maul in the new version that fought Darth Vader in that Dead Horse Comic. Rock

Lastly why not add that bounty hunter in the clone wars tv show that was mentoring bolba i cant remember her name but she has some jedi training so thus a sith like bounty hunter for the zan concortum if there is a model for her.

Hi. I'm having some trouble getting the change from P1 to P2 feature for the Clone troopers to work. So I copied the files in this folder and pasted them into the main XML folder and said 'Yes to all' for overwriting the existing files. Well when I went into FoC and loaded a GC game in Equal Footing as the Republic I get an exception error concerning the files that I had overwritten. If I replace the whole XML file with the original the game works fine but if I try to use this feature it will not work. Can anyone help me out?

Yeah and I wish he would make another of these mods or at least someone do the same kind of thing but update it.

Would love to see this mod with stuff like from the alliance mod and that CIS ship with the huge ion cannon from the 1st season of clone wars.

If it werent for the balance issue I am 100% sure ackbar would be on the republic's side.

#101 There is a mod of this for EAW it just is not as updated as the one on FOC and as for the torrent I suggest looking it up on google.

This mod looks awesome. I downloaded it , extracted it, then put the XML folder in the XML folder of "corruption" (I'm using Steam with Gold pack.) I already have it in my Mod folder. I click on Empire at War it comes up with the Acclamator Cruisers and says "Return of the Clones" I go to Skirmish and there are only the original factions. (Rebellion, Empire and Zann whatever.) Help? I know this is the first comment in a while but I hope you can get back to me! smile

Sad that I can't use this.... frown

(Sorry for the Double post. But I also need to ask: Why not use just XML? There is no folder for all that Lua and TED junk. Is it required? It would be so much simpler if you could just use XML if possible.

I like the idea of Republic Z-95s. By the way, I have a suggestion: Z-95 Headhunter and V-19 Torrent land units. Just though this'd be a good suggestion.

What about adding the Mandator-class super star destroyer to the Republic even in skirmish mode? It was the super star destroyer of the Republic era. Just thought I'd suggest it.

Keldabe - no, it's set in the time of the Original Trilogy, but it's an alternate timeline that sort of brings the Clone Wars into the conflict between the Empire and Rebellion.

I checked the shortcut path and it still wont work I dont know how everybody else got their's to work but mine is still saying the mod path does not exist or whatever it's saying. I would very much like to play it.
