Nuclear War (1.1) - File Description  

A mod that gives the Empire Intergalactic Nuclear Missiles, only buildable at The Maw.
The Nukes use the self-destruct ability to destroy everything on the map.
Also adds the ability to bombard a planet with nukes if there is a nuke in orbit above the planet. in this version I have added an Icon, and fixed the shortcut.

Bugs: non that I found.

Installation : Just put the extracted files into the mod folder. Copy the shortcut to your desktop. Start with Nuclear War mod.exe

If you want to use this mod in your public mod please tell me first and mention it in your credits .

this unbalances the game to much. you should have some equally powerful thing for the rebs and zann or just make the nukes less powerful or keep the damage the same and make them really expensive
just some idealswink

I agree. Somone should make a galaxy gun mod, that would be sweet. The nukes would go perfect with it. smile

FYI, proton torpedoes are nuclear warheads. This mod is way too mired in 20th Century thinking.

I do plan on making it balanced in V2 but I just wanted to get the icon and a bug I found with the shortcut fixed for now

Nukes are seldom used in the SW universe. Proton torpedoes are way less powerful (the Fighter-mounted versions), since a nuke would blow you into bits as well as your target, unless you are very-very far away. I do not know why are they unpopular, but I have two ideas: First, nukes destroy everything, second, they give off radiation. These
effects are not preferable if you want to conquer something and use it for your own good (agricultural facilites or cities for example).

Nukes were used by the Mandalorians who blew up planets and republic ships with them. Nukes were their most devastating heavy weaponry, each capable of blasting a city into ashes (As it was demonstrated on Serrocco).

They were also used against the Yuuzhan Vong too (by the Galactic Alliance I think).

THIS IS AWSOME. ITS VERY NICE. the after effects are awsome((the green dots)(they look like radiation)) Very nice i hope you do more mods in the future cuz u do great

Alright, this makes the Empire be the undisputed #1 power in the galaxy (not like they weren't already) and this mod makes it EXTREMELY unbalanced. There is only one way to balance it: YOU NEED TO ADD IT FOR THE REBELS AND CONSORTIUM!!!!!!!!!

The rebels could have planetary shields, like in EP V Empire Strikes back stick out tongue, and the zhan Consortium get a point defense system do defend against the nukes

P.S. Rebels wouldn't use the nukes because they would kill the innocent, the underworld would but its the friggen underworld.

my game freezes after useing a few battles useing the nuke, and after auto-resolving.
