Readme File:
ISD vs Venator Mod

This minimod adds Venator-class Star Destroyer for the Empire and replaces Imperial Star Destroyer model with the improved one.
I have choosen these ships because the Venator is the most recognizable Old Republic's warship and the ISD symbolizes Empire's might.
Both destroyers are equipped with moving turrets.

Installation
Unzip the archive and place 'Mods' folder and 'ISD_vs_Venator.bat' file into your "Forces of Corruption" main folder (e.g. 'C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption'). Double-click on 'ISD_vs_Venator.bat' to start the game.

It's not compatible with CiS v5, cuz EaW don't support rotating turrets on ships.
I thimk this mod is FoC only.

Thanks for appreciating my work! I'm planing next version of this minimod. The projectiles will be more movie-like, I will add new fighters for Venator (Eta-2, Arc-170) and optionally new death clones (espacially ISD's stock death clone differs too much from new model).
Also, this is a mini-mod only so I encourage you to merge it with larger mods. It's not that difficult , there's a lot of tutorials on the web.

Open Starbases.xml, find the Empire skirmish star base tech level you want, and add Venator in TacticalBuidablesObjects, and it will work. wink

I'm not even kidding when i say this, those are two of the best models i have ever seen in a computer game, certainly the best user-made ones, well done smile

the only fault i can find is that the back one of the four turrets on either side of the bridge tower on the ISD model should be an Ion cannon

sorry to be negative but when i play cons at skirmish and capture a pirate base and i build the venator it spawns me a completely destroyed venator other than that the mod is really nice looking forward to more

Open Starbases.xml, find the Empire skirmish star base tech level you want, and add Venator in TacticalBuidablesObjects, and it will work.

You are right about ISD mk.I but I have forgotten to say it's an Imperial-II model in the mod. I has octuple turbolaser turrets only.

This is great, great work Avenger. I've been waiting for someone to pull these together. Have just successfully modded them into my version of z3r0x's 2.0 mod and they work fine.

One question though: Do the Venator textures include a Republic version (i.e. a red markings one, like the original Jedi Cruiser)? If not, can you please add this functionality in so you get the right colour for the faction?

Yeh me too i noticed it it sometimes doesnt shoot, but only sometimes, still a nice mod

no just fix the stock venator modell cuz if u replace it for the nuetral factions it will unbalance it because the venator will be available at level one thats not goodTwo Thumbs Down!

Oh and one more little thing can u change the color of the plasma shots of the new venator to a red color it would be a little more realistic keep up the wonderful job dudeRockRock

hey you forgot to mention that i suggested the improvements on the venator model! (jk, you did all the work so it doesnt matter)

nice work btw on the ISD, i might use that also in my mod if you let me of course (people are asking me to put the same amount of effort in all the other ships as the venator so if you keep making all these good models i might be able to do that)

first they are no plasma shots.
they are normal shots.

second in the movie the venator shoots blue lasers.

@ Coolyboy77: Most people don't do land models, for good reason: Think of all the animation files that would need to be done (attack, idle, death, walk, any specials). Especially with Jedi. I say just wait for IA2.

yes they do shoot blue lasers and they are in fact pretty close to being that dark, if he had it the other color blue it'd look like the ion cannon and that just looks corny, especialy when shot next to a ship that actualy has ion cannons

Just FoC if you want the moving turrets. however, you can put the models into EAW, it just takes a bit of code revising
