Description: Contained is the EAW/FoC Mod Launcher Program by the Team over at SMG.
It automatically detects all Mods you have installed in Modpaths.
Below are images of the Installer in action.

1. Installation & Requirements
To run the launcher you need to have Microsoft Dot.NET Framework 2.0 installed
You can find it on the official Microsoft website:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/thankyou.aspx?familyId=0856eacb-4362-4b0d-8edd-aab15c5e04f5&displayLang=en
After you ensured you have the Framework 2.0 installed, place the Launcher wherever
you want on your Computer. Starting the Launcher out of a network will cause errors.
No installation is required. It scans automaticly where you have Installed your
EaW and FoC.
2. Usage
Make sure that you have every of your Mods for EaW and FoC in the "Mods" Folder.
If you patch your EaW/FoC installation to the lastest version, or install the
mapeditor, these Folders will be created for you. If you wish to create them on your
own, place the "Mods" folder for EaW in the "GameData" folder. For FoC place the
"Mods" folder in the FoC root folder (where the swfoc.exe file is located).
For each Mod you wish to use in EaW/FoC create it's own folder within the Mods folder,
Or rename the Folders you allready have to a Name you know what mod it is. The
Launcher scans the Mod folder, and shows you the name of the folders inside.
To launch the game, or a mod, just open the launcher by double clicking on it. The
unmodded games are found as textlinks above the mod box. To start EaW or FoC make
sure you have the correct disk in your ROM drive, and klick the name of the game.
To start a mod, choose it's name from the list. The tag in front of the mods name
tells you wich disk you need to play it. Activate it by clicking on the name and
then push the start button.
Your game will be launched modded

It was the first FOC mod I played with the editor. It works fine with EAW. What is wrong? |

Keep in mind that it works best if the mod already comes w/an installer or short cut.
For example, i have CIS V5, Bailknights Mod V3, and Steiners Reloaded V3 all installed on EAW and after testing all mods in GC, they work fine without any hassle. (they ring up seperately of course)
I am currently trying to install mods w/o installers/short cuts to see if they will work just as fine

I have installed 2.0, but it will not work now. I keep getting the same error message even though I have installed and reinstalled 2.0, with and without the hot fixes, and even 3.0 with and without the hotfixes. Like I said I have gotten this to work before, but since I have done a fresh install it does not work now. I get this error from Microsoft .NET Framework:

And in the popup box it gives a details, continue, and quite button. If I click continue the launcher opens, but with no sound and no mods show. Also none of the clickable options work on the launcher. If I click details its just a huge list of techno babble.
Please HELP! It seems that the poster before me has the same problem, but no one has responded. I do not know how to load all the mods without this program. None of the short cuts seem to work even if you follow the modders instructions. Thanks in adavance! |

Same with FoC but to LucasArts/Star Wars Empire At War Forces of Corruption/data/mod |

Sgt_Budsky From: (Victoria) Joined: December 27th, 2007 Posts: 2 | Not being the most wisest with computer jargon and modding, I just tried the old fashion way and copied all the files in aosw_jcw (age of the jedi order 'aka' Kotor Mod) into a newly made XML folder in eaw's data folder (curious as to why there wasn't one there before hand) and while the game loaded differently (at this point I haven't even bothered with mod launcher) the game had an additional load screen broadcasting "Jedi Civil Order" along with a loan sith fighter (i think it was anyway). The menu and all that carried on like normal. Still only had Rebel and Empire as playable factions... however upon starting a test run skirmish I was (wouldn't say shocked) "___" to notice that a large portion of text (usually the field that said 'Tie Fighter') was replaced with "MISSING" and shortly thereafter windows makes a PING noise, after hitting spacebar it reverts back to desktop and kills the game off... so there might be a way to manually add all the mod files into the game (which I imagine is what mod launcher does temporarily while active) or I might have just stumbled upon something that's either insignificant, common knowledge or a new field of exploration (not that I'd put my money on the latter). |

First get Framework 2.0 or higher, Un-install Empire at war, This problem is mainly due to tampering with the date files in the EAW directory. Then re-install Empire at war, patch it using the 1.5 patch found conveniently here. Open the launcher and it should work like a charm. *Remember to completely un-install empire at war.* =) I had the same problem and I did this, And it works fine. |

The site (http://sims.ambertation.de/en/kb/entry/1/) told this:
It is caused by a missing library called Managed Direct X. This ist not Direct X, that has been installed already with "The Sims 2", without it, the game would not run at all.
To get rid of this problem, you have to install Managed Direct X .

After I installed this (install Frame network 2.0 too), everything worked like a charm, no error message, no problems. My brother is now complaining about low fps caused by the mod and his weak pc but that's another story .

mobbmann Joined: March 10th, 2006 Posts: 198 | This MOD launcher is old and does not work with newer mods, that is why I didnt recommend using it with AEM 4.5. Other modders know this too that is why we just include shortcuts to the Exe file included with our mods, it's alot easier and people dont have to fight with this absolutly half @ss mod launcher. My recommendation is to just not use this garbage. |

Even with the original disc inside my DVD drive the launcher greys out the "Empire at War" and "Forces of Corruption" options for which I should have. Also my mods, resting snugly in my Mods folder in my FoC folder, do not show up. So really, there is nothing to play in the launcher screen. Oh, and there is music when you load the launcher? I didn't hear any.
Perhaps it may be the newer operating systems, this launcher's incompatibility, the Gold Pack thing, or an error (it can't account for everything). I'm going to do some more research on this. |

pirko From: Joined: June 28th, 2009 Posts: 117 | to answer all those who keep yelling about this not working, first check to see if you are running 64 bit. if so, forget the mod launchers as none appear to work for FOC and 64 bit. i know it sucks, but that's what happens when they release new bit systems. just wait, in a few years you'll be unable to do anything on a new computer that you did on your old one because its now 128 bit. o.o
on the other hand, if you are lucky enough to be running 32 bit, this should work on your comp. if not, then post saying it didnt work. but all those with 64 bit SHUT UP! we know it doesnt work. |

The modification you made doesn't appear to be working right, it's detecting the mod I have installed for EAW, but NOT the mod for FOC |

Maybe its more common that I think, but not compatible with a 64 bit? Lol in this day and age I cant imagine 32 bit systems being more common than 64. Itd be nice if you could figure out a way to run it on 64 bit (Idk how hard it would be). Either way, thanks, but still sad it wont work for me. |
