Dusk At DawUn (1.0) - File Description  


Description:
Dusk at DawUn is an excellent example of a map that has taken time and dedication to create. This map presents a nicely detailed multi-tiered battlefield that has you fighting in a moon landscape through various facilities. The author has put great effort into prop work and has carved an excellent map with the height tool. Be sure to download Yoden's Prop Pack before playing this map. Sadly the picture server is not working and cannot do this land map justice.

Readme File:
Dusk At DawUn is the second of three (or four) in my DawUn series: The decision to combine efforts and experiment with atmospheric generators was an experiment in itself between the Rebellion and Empire. Each faction was well aware of how rich in resources DawUn was. So in an effort to relieve tension on both sides, a treaty was signed that allowed mining facilities to be constructed, as long as no military was stationed on the moon. For several months, the DawUn had been unusually peaceful. Then unexpectedly, pirates began to settle on each side of the enormous facility. Even combined, the Rebel and Imperial security forces could not defend a facility that size. The next few weeks became stressful as DawUns peace treaty was adjusted to allow a small military force on the Moon. Each side became more watchful over the other and eventually began constructing defenses, even going as far as building a gauntlet on the east side of the facility.

Soon enough, pirates started to test the strength of the facility, and Imperial and Rebel forces had to work together in order to push the pirates back. During a small mid-day skirmish with pirates near the Gauntlet, an unfortunate and deadly friendly fire incident had pushed each faction over the edge and one waged war with the other.

Relive the aftermath right after the skirmish and defeat your enemies. No one will settle for peace again so take control of the facility once and for all.


- As soon as the mission starts, head to the Gauntlet to retrieve your forces and defeat any survivors.
- Pirates are located in each corner of the map. Eliminate both bases to achieve total victory.

Also be aware this map was made with a speedy PC so everything ran ok for me. Slower PCs may need to turn down their graphic level.

wow, first: awesome map,

When first playing this map, it's hard to make up were everything is and were to go, but afther some searching, it's actually not that hard to get around, everythign is nice mapped, great passability, great prop usement, great texturing.

Real nice map mister. Looks like its good fun to play.

A hint: With the yellow "parking" area for the walkers/ big APC thing with wheels, make the yellow texture hard edged, so it will look more square.

I think for anyone who actually has EaW/FoC installed on they computer (sorry, im on a netbook for the next few weeks), should give this cool looking map a try. I know I will when I get my motherboard back! Two Thumbs Up!

Bubbleteatroopa, I tried the hard edges first but it didn't line up with the props I already placed. Lining up to the hard edges would require restructuring most of the walls in that complex. If a V2 is released, I already made a point to fix it big grin
