| DeathStar Laser Mechanism - File Description |
 |
Description:
Quote: This is my partily completed death star II , this file is ment for modders (the pros especially) to try to complete,I think
by circulating this info into the community someone can finish what i started, a fully controllable death star that uses the real
firing animation to destroy capital ships and such. right now it is set to only use the superlaser animation if its targeting a frigate
class ship. you can change that in the xml file.

just copy and paste these files into their corresponding xml files. this death star will use the animation to fire on frigate class rebel ships, the unit will then freeze unble to move or fire again.
if you have any questions my email is sonic@cncgames.every1.net
this is a free realease use it as you wish, if you complete it, all i ask is for partial credit, you dont have to give it to me but it would be nice. | |

Mikan_Cyclone From: Joined: January 23rd, 2006 Posts: 43 | There are none. This mod doesn't include the model. |
PIEC3SxMENDED Joined: June 4th, 2006 Posts: 9 | Couldn't you post a screenshot of it firing at a ship though? |
Mikan_Cyclone From: Joined: January 23rd, 2006 Posts: 43 | There isn't a model, or ala included, so it's a pretty much a waste of time if your looking for a DSII model. |
Tokakeke From: (Spokane, WA) Joined: March 1st, 2006 Posts: 229 | Oh, so it's just an animation then? |
thefccstrikesback From: (Half the year between Conn and Mass) Joined: May 26th, 2006 Posts: 123 | A DSII model wouldnt be very difficult to make. The only problem is, if you wanted to make it realistic, it would be enormous. (Death Star was 160 km in diameter, DSII was around 900 km) |
Arc9 Joined: May 31st, 2006 Posts: 568 | Does this mod make the death star controllable,or is it like a base to help make it controllable??? |

thefccstrikesback From: (Half the year between Conn and Mass) Joined: May 26th, 2006 Posts: 123 | #9, there are many estimates about DSII's size. Some have suggested only 160 km (like that site), but the guys at lucasfilms suggested something at least 500 km, and when some measurements were done, many discovered a size more around 900 km. Compared to Endor (which has earth-normal gravity making it roughly the size of earth), it would make sense. Despite the popular theory that dsII is 160, I like to go with the more logical one. See here: http://www.sfdebris.com/swc3.html |

Darker_Pastures From: Joined: August 26th, 2003 Posts: 30 | I'm pretty sure the official star wars website, trumps any other website without a question so......the DS2 is 160km in diameter |
thefccstrikesback From: (Half the year between Conn and Mass) Joined: May 26th, 2006 Posts: 123 | Im pretty sure that it wasnt written by the same people who made the death star, who have given a size similar to mine. Not only that, but if it were 160 km, Endor would be smaller than pluto, making it unable to sustain life. And according to the website, Chewie dies, do you believe that? |
Sonic0 From: (Weatherford) Joined: May 11th, 2006 Posts: 139 | All this does is make a deathstar controlable and unlocks its destroy planet animation for attacking ships in space, i do not and will not have acces to my screenshots for 3 weeks i'm sorry, im on vacation! |

TheMM From: (Carthage, Mo.) Joined: April 21st, 2006 Posts: 19 | Hmm... if I knew how to use this accursed program ( "modding tools" as they're known) I'd gladly do this myself to finish it. I actually created a 3d model of the Death Star and with a lil work it could be the DS2. =) |
TheMM From: (Carthage, Mo.) Joined: April 21st, 2006 Posts: 19 | Didn't want to double post, but I forgot to mention, I can't download this! I don't know why. |

And those are just the ones i realeased, all i did was use thier models, the rest of the mod i made, and thiers nothing lame about that, im a very talented modder and codder, but i cant make models, so i have to use other peoples, (with thier permission of course)
And its really rude to call a mod lame that someone worked on for several months, just cause they cant make thier own models, alot, almost every mod out right now uses other peoples models. thats like saying using Low's SSD is lame.
Sorry for being so rude, but i take great offense to that. |
Sonic0 From: (Weatherford) Joined: May 11th, 2006 Posts: 139 | oops wrong mod. |
grisganack Joined: May 28th, 2006 Posts: 26 | i just downloaded this model and why have you put it in the unique units xml file and not in the superweapon file?(just a question, it's fine as it is but is was just wondering why) |
Nachytsm Joined: July 20th, 2006 Posts: 29 | This is the specs from wookiepedia for the DS II. Length 900km Width 900km Height/Depth 900km. It also says it could have held 16 capital ships (ISD's of course) and that much of the space was used for the equipment of the weapon. |
