Abregado Ports (2.0) - File Description  


Description:
the_empire_guy comes back with a new version of his Abregado Ports map. With some altered prop work and a complete re-texturing it's definitely a map to check out. The Urban theme was successfully implemented to created a well laid out map. My only suggestions would be to add a light fog to the map and to make the borders of the river more urban looking. Mud beside metal just didn't seem right in this case.

The map is set in Abregado's capital port city (which I forget the name of) and has two sides: an Imperial side, and rebel side. There is a major choke-point bridge with four captureable trubolaser towers around it.
Whoever controls this controls the map. There is also some secondary objectives and eye candy as I realized that the map would be very boring without something else than bridge control.
That's really the whole run-down of the map.

Re-textured map. There is now a "beaten path" running through the map. I also gave and overhaul to the river and water.
Added in more buildings to fill blank spaces
Put in different skydome
Placed more build pads and mineral processor pads to map
Placed 2 Pirate bases with defenders on map
Replaced lower tier buildings with one that WILL NOT EXPLODE UPON GAME START. (buildings like advanced factory will still have to be built)

The map is interesting, i'll say that. But it's got some major flaws. One of which being both sides are missing the power generator. for some reason there's a landing pad with a transport where the imperial generator should be. The base structures are too close to the surrounding structures, and the command center for the empire is almost unnoticeable.

I used the clone wars mod, v.4 and for some reason the laat transport couldn't fly over the water, it hugged the coast line.

As I said, I only really changed the texture and props. As for the water, I made it impassible when I did the Passability Texturing.

I can certainly fix these things for the V3 If you'd like.

It'll take about 10 clicks max to fix the problems mentioned in the FoC map editor. smile
